There are people who just don’t want to understand when it’s time to calm down, for example Amos & the Ruers, a band dedicated to Italian rock and roll. Amos (voice-guitar) brings on stage his songs and his follies such as “shake-picking” (guitar played with maracas) and the Ruers respond with a pounding rhythm section, the effect is a Rock and roll with the heartbeats at punk speed and blood poisoned by country-blues. They were formed in the summer of 2017 from the musical meeting between Amos Villa (guitarist/songwriter and cartoonist, former Electric Ruer-one man band and former Doppia Goccia) and Gabriele “GA” Squillace, veteran punk drummer (Viboras, Water Tower, New Ortensia sox, Lester Greenowski & more) where between rock’n’roll sessions and revelry, they understand that they just can’t do without all this. From this addiction to rock and roll “the Ruers” were born, they debuted as a duo in October ’17 at the Honky Tonky in Seregno as an opening act for the local country-punk heroes Legendary Kid Combo. Other concerts follow alongside local bands with whom they share streets and stages (Bad Juju, Boogie Spiders, Water Tower, Mercy seat, Viboras, Lester Greenwoski and others) and the duo transforms into a power trio with the inclusion of the “heavy” bass ” by Marco Lo Scara (Mexican Standoff, Stone Lips). In November 2018 they released their first self-produced EP entitled “Subito Troupi Over” (6 songs) which featured Eric Robert on the organ (B.B.King Orchestra, Keb’ Mo’ and others) in the song “Come un Fuoco”. This is followed by the publication of a video clip, also self-produced, of the song “Hitcher girl”. In the same year the line-up sees a change of guard and the bass parts become even more robust and distorted with the arrival of Enzo Lana on bass (ex Corni Petar) with whom the live activity and the making of a second EP for the whole of 2019. On February 27, 2020 they recorded the second self-produced EP entitled “Dritto Dentro” (6 songs), the recordings are still performed largely live and the work is entrusted to Fabio Intraina by Trai Studio. The song “Sortilegio” features Ivanino (Cantiniero) on the organ, while Irene Viboras (Viboras) offers her voice in “Fake stay away”. Despite the difficulties caused by the lockdown, the EP was published on November 27th and received positive reviews from various magazines and webzines (Rockit, RockGarage, Punkadeka and others) which uniquely highlight the band’s rock and roll attitude and the validity of the compositions. The video clip of the song “Paradiso Fantasma” follows. Also in 2020 they were guests on the album “Viboras and friends: rockers united”, a fundraiser for the health emergency involving punk bands from all over Italy, and later participated with the cover of “Mainline” in the compilation “We keep on shoutin-Not your averge KISS tribute”, in support of the “Cancer Drug and Rock’n’roll” association with over 80 international bands. In March 2021 they released the single “Milano Sud” in collaboration with Lester Greenowsky and the Boomlabs Studio of Nashville (U.S.A.), the single is presented on the web with a video entirely hand-drawn by Amos. In 2022 they recorded the third album “Rest il rock’n’roll” produced by the band and distributed by LM Records.

The band is currently ready to record new songs and return to live activity.
